2019 was our best year thus far and had many firsts! Each season we had been improving and 2019 continued that trajectory. The season began in Battle Creek Lakeview with a number eight ranking after qualification rounds. they won 13 of their 19 rounds. The HEROES were the first pick of the number two alliance and went on to the finals of playoffs before being eliminated. This was 5676 first appearance in playoff finals. Several weeks later, at the Jackson district event, the HEROES finished 12-5-0 and were captains of the 6th seed alliance. These two events were good enough to qualify the team for States at SVSU for the first time ever. The team performed well there also, finishing 8-6-0 in 11th place. They were the first pick on alliance six and eliminated in the quarterfinals. The season wasn't over yet, as they were also able to qualify for the World Competition in Detroit that year. The community rallied behind the team and raised funds for this extra experience to be possible. The team travelled to the famous Cobo Center and finished with 5-6-0 record, and were the 2nd pick for the number four alliance. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals.  There was so much to be proud of this unforgettable season.  It is our only "World Qualification," so far. Excitement was high for the next season and the program was growing.
